This location, the Woodlawn Cemetery, serves as the burial ground for Samuel L. Clemens, better known as the author Mark Twain. Much of Twain’s family, including his mother, wife, son, and daughter, are also buried in this cemetery.
The grave site is dominated by a memorial obelisk bearing Twain’s likeness. Individual headstones are arranged along the path leading to the obelisk.
