The Freethought Trail's coverage of the Forty-Fifth Annual Convention of the New York State Woman Suffrage Association (NYSWSA), held in Binghamton, New York, in October 1913, first went live in early 2020 with a Site page for the Centenary Church, where the convention's plenary sessions were held. Further research has now identified all the venues associated with this convention. A new Site page has been created for the Bennett Hotel, the convention's headquarters hotel and the site of several business meetings.
The additional research has unearthed an interesting fact about the 1913 convention: the church where the plenary session was held, the headquarters hotel, and the mansion where a reception for convention delegates was held were all designed by local architect Isaac Gale Perry, who went on to design large portions of the New York State capital building.
A Site page for the reception site, now the Phelps Mansion, will follow shortly.
