Catherine Fish and Giles Stebbins Grave Site

The gravestone of Catherine Fish Stebbins and her husband Giles Badger Stebbins lies parallel and adjacent to the identically styled stone of Catherine's parents, Benjamin and Sarah Fish, in Rochester's elegant Mount Hope Cemetery. In contrast to the graves of more prominent figures such as Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony, there is no signage showing the way to the grave site. The Stebbins stone misstates the date of Giles Stebbins's death; he died in 1900, not in 1904, which was the year of Catherine's death.
