The thirty-fifth annual convention of the New York State Woman Suffrage Association (NYSWSA) was held in Hornellsville on Tuesday through Friday, October 20–23, 1903.
Plenary sessions of the suffrage convention were held at Westminster Presbyterian Church (erected 1900).
Other venues utilized by the convention included the Page House Hotel, where business meetings were conducted, and the Joseph B. Woodbury residence, where a gala reception was held.
The Building and Site. The brick and stone structure was erected in 1900 as Westminster Presbyterian Church. In 1967, the Westminster congregation merged with the First Presbyterian Church at 150 Main Street and abandoned this building. It was acquired at an unknown date by the Free Methodist Church of Hornell. The structure still displays its original name on its cornerstone.
